Video
games have a powerful emotional effect on teenagers. Video games provide a fun and engaging form of entertainment
and provide an outlet for expression. With online Internet connections, players
are able to socialize with their friends from their own home while their
friends who are playing with them can be in various places. Gaming is an
interactive form of entertainment when played online with a group of players
and allows players to socialize by engaging each other in conversations that
produces active listening and learning.
The positive effects of playing video war games on the cognitive,
developmental, physical and emotional levels can outweigh the negative effects
in most teenagers who do not exhibit risk factors such as depression or anger
displacement.
